Women in Medicine Announces Academic Scholarships for Medical Students
Women in Medicine (WIM) will present two $5,000 academic scholarships for female medical
students enrolled in allopathic or osteopathic medical schools in the United States or Canada
this year. Applications are due February 1, 2012. The scholarships will be presented at the
WIM annual meeting in Napa, CA, April 22 – 26, 2012, with the expectation that the medical
students will be present to receive their awards. Applicants should be in good academic
standing, and have actively contributed/demonstrated leadership for the LGBT community.

Medical students are encouraged to attend WIM for innumerable reasons! Not only is the
medical education relevant and cutting edge, but the network of personal and
professional support is an invaluable investment in your education, career, and personal
growth!
For students, access to donor's only section to the website is free as long as you
register to be a donor.
Conference Scholarships
WIM invites medical students to apply for lodging scholarships to help defray the cost of
attending the conference. Need-based assistance is also available (on a limited basis)
for significant others and children.

Mentoring Program
Each year WIM creates a conference-long
mentoring program, pairing medical students
and attendings based on fields of interest,
geography, and other preferences. This is an
incredible opportunity for students to learn
from those of us "who've been there," to
network, to strategize, and plan your careers.
